The computer will not turn on

If your touchscreen computer will not turn on, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your touch screen is plugged in all the way in both the outlet, and computer’s power port (power cords can loosen over time).
  2. Unplug the computer
  3. With the computer unplugged, hold down the power button for 20 seconds to perform a hard reset of the system.
  4. Plug the computer back into the power supply and press the power button.
  5. If the computer does not start-up after steps 1-4, try using a different outlet. If no other outlet is available, plug something in to the outlet like a lamp, or phone charger to make sure the outlet is supplying power.  If no power is coming to the outlet check to see if a GFCI outlet or breaker on the circuit has been tripped.
  6. Once you have verified that the outlet is working, find another computer power cable and use that to test if the cable is faulty.

If all of the steps above have been performed and the computer still fails to turn on there may be a problem with the computer.  Contact the computer manufacturer’s support number to further troubleshoot the problem and/or obtain warranty repairs.  Have your coputer’s serial number ready for the support technician.  The serial number can usually be found on the the back of the computer near the bottom.
