Playlist Questions and Answers

The following are answers to common questions we receive about TouchMD Playlist.  If you do not see an answer to your question below, please contact your TouchMD Account Manager or email support.

How much does playlist cost?
Playlist is included for free with your active TouchMD account.
What hardware is needed for Playlist?
Playlist is built into the TouchMD Consult app, so no new hardware is required for to us Playlist in your consultation rooms. If you would like to run Playlist on your existing waiting room TV, you will need to purchase an Amazon Fire TV Stick, or have a TV with the "Fire TV Edition." built-in. Playlist is also available on Android TV devices.
Does playlist show products I do not offer?
You can decide which products show in your playlist. Using our Playlist management portal, simply turn off the products you do not offer.
Can I add my own content Playlist?
Yes, we encourage you add your own content such as practice specials, events, announcement, products, and validations using our Playlist management portal.
What type of content can I add to Playlist?
Currently you can add videos or still images. Click here to learn more and review the file specifications.
Is playlist easy to setup?
Yes, simply select the products you want to show in Playlist, have your staff watch our "How to use" video, and select a date you want us to activate your Playlist. Since Playlist is already built-in to the latest version of the TouchMD Consult application, it will automatically be available the next time you open the Consult app on your devices... no installation needed!
How does playlist work?
Playlist is built-in the TouchMD Consult app. After 3 minutes of non-use, Playlist will automatically begin showing pre-selected Playlist promos and wait time is maximized. Patients will self identify with product interests and start the conversation. Playlist makes it possible for patients to easily up-sell and cross-sell themselves on multiple add-on products and services. Aren`t you sick of hearing I didn`t know you offered that? How do I install Playlist?
No installation is needed to use Playlist in your consultation rooms since it is already built into the TouchMD Consult App.
Can I have Playlist on my Waiting Room TV?
Playlist is designed to take advantage of the patient wait time in your consultation rooms using existing TouchMD device, but if desired you can have playlist running on your waiting room TV. This requires you have a Fire TV Stick or TV with the "Fire TV Edition." built-in and install the Playlist app. Click here for more information.
What are the length of the Playlist product promos?
In consult rooms, playlist promos are limited to between 15 and 90 seconds. This allows your patients to view more promos during there short wait time, allowing them to learn about a variety of services and specials you offer. There are no time limits for promos playing on your waiting room screen, however we do limit the file size of promos to 100mb for optimal performance. Thus the file size, video resolution and compression will limit the length of a video uploaded to Playlist.
