Follow these steps to send what you see on your iPad to a bigger television screen.

  1. Unpack the AppleTV, Apple Remote, and power cord.

  3. Connect the AppleTV to your TV monitor using a HDMI cable (not included with the AppleTV).
  4. Secure the AppleTV behind the TV monitor.
  5. Select the proper HDMI input setting on your TV monitor (Usually, the HDMI input can be selected by pressing the INPUT button on the monitor or monitor remote).
  6. Using the Apple Remote, select “General” from the “Settings” menu.
  7. Select “Sleep After” from the “General” menu. (The AppleTV does not have a power button; instead, it will go into sleep mode.)
