When will the Welcome Email be sent?

This article discusses the three flows available for the sending of TouchMD Welcome Email. The Welcome Email is an email that is automatically sent (may also be sent manually) to patients to invite them to create a password for their account and log into their specific account to view information saved into their account such as; before and/or after images, educational materials, consents/forms, etc…. The flow available to your practice is dependent on the method that patients are registered into the TouchMD system. Please see the information below according to the means you register a patient for TouchMD.

What happens after the patient sets up their password using the Welcome Email?

Once the patient sets up their password using the Welcome Email, a second email confirming the set up of their account will be sent. This email will let the patient know that they may install the myTouchMD app on their smartphone or go to the patient website. It is, however, highly recommended that your team talks of the patient app throughout the registration and consultation/visit processes and that you help the patient install the app. Our findings show the more you talk about it and assist the patient to use, the more likely they will log into the app.

I register my patient via the TouchMD system (Dashboard, Consult, Snap):

The Welcome Email will be sent to your patient after the registration process has been completed via the Dashboard, the Consult app or the Snap app. For optimal patient engagement, we would recommend assigning something to their account for them to review. You may Recommend a topic of interest, assign Homework and/or a Consent, and/or add an image into their account.

My patients are registered via an integration with my EMR/EHR/PM:

 TouchMD automatically sends out the Welcome Email after the patient’s account has been accessed via the TouchMD Dashboard, TouchMD Snap, or TouchMD Consult. TouchMD does not send out the Welcome Email at the time of creation due to the fact that at this point most patients do not have anything to view in their account (i.e., before and/or after images, educational materials, etc…) and their scheduled appointment may be many months out. To prompt the Welcome Email to be sent to the patient you may access their account via the TouchMD Dashboard, TouchMD Snap, or TouchMD Consult. For optimal patient engagement, we would recommend assigning something to their account for them to review. You may Recommend a topic of interest, assign Homework and/or a Consent, add an image into their account or simply view the patient account on Dashboard, Snap, or Consult.
